Simon Cowell Goes All Out in New Roulette TV Show

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

When you’re the biggest TV tycoon in the world and you have enough money to do with as you wish, there’s nothing stopping you launching the biggest gambling show ever made in history. Simon Cowell rolled out his plans to launch a roulette based game called Red and Black, where seven contestants have the chance to win £1 million or go home empty handed. The show, which will be hosted by Ant and Dec, will be filmed in front of 7,000 people at Wembley Arena in June. Contestants need to guess the result of some amazing challenges along the way that have a 50/50 outcome. Gambling critics are already sniping at Cowell’s ankles but the tycoon is adamant that there is no risk involved. “It’s not gambling because people are not using their cash,” he retorted.

Courtesy of Roulette2002:

“A woman decided to treat herself to a casino getaway for her birthday. Upon entering the casino, the commotion at the roulette wheel immediately catches her eye.

She makes her way to the roulette table and says to an attractive young man standing to her left, “Today’s my birthday!”

The man then suggests that, it being her birthday and all, she should play her age.

Flashing a smile at the man, she puts her money on number 29. The wheel is spun, and the ball lands on 36.

The smile shrinks from her face as she faints in humiliation.”

Antonius Defies Odds of Online Poker Slump

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

Finnish online poker demigod, Patrik Antonius seems to be the antithesis of the online poker slump that has hit the internet since the US started cracking down on poker sites in mid April. In the past seven days alone, the player has won an incredible $1.7 million, beating some seriously stiff competition such as Gus Hansen, Ilari Sahamies and Andreas Torbergsen. Antonius has been reportedly one of the busiest player on Full Tilt Poker since Black Friday, especially at $300/$600 6 Max PLO games. This is great news for Antonius, who has been going through a personal slump of his own lately….

Poker Joke No. 1:

A guy was playing 10-20 holdem and was stuck about 300 dollars when he looked down beside the table and saw a little green leprechaun.

“Quit playing poker forever right now and I’ll give you a pot of gold worth a million dollars.”, said the little fellow.

The player replied, “Let me get even first.”

Poker Joke No. 2:

Jane walked into her living room and saw her husband Tom playing Poker with a dog.

“Amazing!” she sputtered. “This must be the smartest dog in the history of the world!”

“He’s not so smart,” Tom mumbled. “I’ve beaten him three out of five games so far.”

Top Dollar Paid for Gambling Domain

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

So all those prophets-of-doom who keep telling us that the end is nigh for online gambling, should take a look at the headlines today. Apparently, there is at least one company who believes in the future of this industry, after it paid a whopping £1.5 million – that’s $2.5 million! – for a simple domain name. Yep, that’s right folks – an undisclosed individual bought the gambling.com domain address from Media Tech, a UK based group that acquired the name for investment purposes and felt that the time was right to sell it. Of course, this price is nowhere near the $13 million obtained for sex.com or the $3 million for vodka.com, but in the grand scheme of things, I think that Media Tech got a pretty good deal for a sequence of letters in a virtual world!!

So what are the funniest domain names out there?

A company trying to market holiday apartments in Spain, Choose Spain, chose the unfortunate www.choosesPain. com.

Amigone Funeral home may have to rethink its name when it sees its domain address: www.AmIGonefuneralhome. com

How about the Children’s Laughter Foundation, a Texas based charitable organization? www.Childrenslaughter. com

Or the First Baptist church in Cumming US… www.first baptistcumming. com ….
